Catalog description
The purpose of this lecture course is to support the Lab instruction in CDL-043. Topics for this course include: vehicle inspections, ELD usage, career development, route planning, and Federal Motor Carriers Safety Regulations (FMCSR). Students must have a California Class A Commercial Learner's Permit (CLP), entry into VVC drug testing consortium (including DOT drug test) and FMCSA medical certificate prior to starting this class. Participants must complete and provide verification of the following in order to engage in behind-the-wheel training: Enrollment in VVC drivers drug test consortium, A negative Department of Transportation (DOT) drug test, A valid DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate, A valid California Class A Commercial Learner's Permit (CLP), Completion of Class A ELDT Theory-Verified by listing on TPR, 49 CFR 391.41(b), 49 CFR Part 382, Subpart C.
