Research in Neuroscience

Catalog description

This course provides students with an empirical research experience in behavioral neuroscience. Through hands-on learning, students will engage in the full research process from conducting literature reviews and forming hypotheses to designing and executing experiments. Key techniques covered include animal handling, behavioral testing for learning and memory, biological assays, data analysis, and research writing. The lab will have ongoing experiments utilizing animal models as well as research with human subjects. By the end of the course, students will be expected to complete a research report and deliver an oral presentation on their scientific findings. Students must be declared Psychology Major with Junior or Senior standing. Lab fee.
