Catalog description

This course serves as a foundation for creative writing, introducing the student to the three primary genres that make up that world - poetry, fiction, and drama. Students will study/review the fundamentals and theory specific to each genre; read and analyze professional poems, stories, and plays; read and critique each other's work; and most importantly, write their own poems, stories, and plays, creating, by the end of the course, a portfolio of original work.
