Catalog description

This course provides a foundation for educating culturally and linguistically diverse students with varying disabilities and support needs through principles of Universal Design for Learning (UDL). This course examines the history and impact of various disabilities and the identification process for special education service delivery and supports. Best practices of the Individualized Education Program (IEP) including collaboration, family partnerships, and co-teaching will also be introduced. Biblical themes to be explored: compassion, family-centeredness, love, meekness, patience, faith, hope, communion/community. Includes 10 hours of observational fieldwork.
