Introduction to Networks

Catalog description

An introduction to the design and analysis of computer communication networks. Topics include application layer protocols, Internet protocols, network interfaces, local and wide area networks, wireless networks, bridging and routing, and current topics. Lecture and lab combination. The lab is structured around exercises that highlight topics such as addressing, subnetting, bridging, ARP, routing (RIP, OSPF), TCP, ICMP, NAT, DHCP, DNS, etc. Students are required to review introductory networking material for each lab.
