Catalog description

Medical Surgical Nursing II builds upon the foundational knowledge and skills acquired in Medical Surgical Nursing I, further exploring complex medical and surgical conditions encountered in adult patients across the lifespan. This course focuses on advancing students' understanding of pathophysiology, pharmacology, and nursing interventions for individuals with acute and chronic he alth problems. Through classroom instruction, clinical simulations, skills laboratory practice, and supervised clinical experie nces, students will develop proficiency in managing complex patient care situations, promoting health maintenance, and preventing complications in medical-surgical nursing practice. Prerequisites: ENG115, ISD205-AN, MAT125-AN, BIO101, BIO201, BIO202, NUR103, NUR104, NUR155, NUR156, NUR160, NUR161, & NUR220A
