Catalog description

Geriatric Nursing is a specialized course designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to provide comprehensive and holistic care to older adults. This course focuses on understanding the unique physiological, psychosocial, and spirit ual needs of the aging population and explores evidence-based nursing interventions to promote health, independence, and quality of life in geriatric patients. Students will develop proficiency in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care for older adults across the continuum of care. Students will also focus on teamwork, collaboration with the interprofessional healthcare team, patient communication, empathy, and providing nursing care within the scope of a registered nurse.
