Catalog description
This course introduces the basic concepts of pathophysiology and pharmacology, focusing on the mechanisms of disease and the foundational principles of drug therapy. Students will explore how diseases affect the body’s systems and how medications are used to treat common conditions. Key topics include the pathophysiology of various diseases and the pharmacological actions, side eff ects, and therapeutic uses of medications. This course provides essential knowledge for healthcare practice and patient care. By the end of the course, students will have developed a strong foundation in the concepts and practices of nursing pathophysiology and pharmacology and will be able to apply this knowledge in a range of healthcare settings for a variety of patients across t he human lifespan. Prerequisites: ENG115, ISD205-AN, MAT125-AN, BIO101, BIO201, BIO202, NUR103 & NUR104
