Catalog description

A study of the ways in which society influences our definitions and understanding of health, illness, and disability. Topics include health care delivery, utilization, and system structure; the relationship between health professionals and patients; inequality in health care and treatment; social constructions of wellness, illness, healing, and disability; and the meaning and experience of illness and disability. Typically Offered: Spring, even years. Prerequisite : SOC 110 .
