Catalog description

An exploration of ethical principles and philosophical considerations in science, including a focus on information and media literacy. Topics include the basics of deductive and inductive reasoning, ethical issues in research, philosophical limits of the scientific method, foundations of empiricism and sources of bias in social and natural sciences. Students will acquire skills needed to understand, interpret and discuss controversial issues. Typically Offered: Spring.
