This course examines the relationship between entertainment and First Amendment protections, focusing on free speech, censorship, obscenity, artistic expression, and media regulation. Through legal case studies, landmark controversies, and cultural analysis, students will critically explore how entertainment - from comedy and music to film and television - has tested the boundaries of free expression.
