Catalog description

A survey of western art from Paleolithic to the Renaissance. Students examine world art through historical objects and sites from prehistoric, ancient, and medieval periods. Students analyze visual art objects from stylistic, historical, political, religious, and anthropological perspectives. Topics include Paleolithic Rock Art Sites, Ancient Near East and Egypt, Ancient Greek and Roman, Early European Medieval, Ancient Medieval China and Japan, Southeast Asian Buddhist, and the Pre-Columbian Americas. Typically Offered: Fall, even years.
