Catalog description

A study of the skills and knowledge necessary to successfully manage and teach choral ensembles in grades six through twelve: instructional planning, lesson development/implementation, cross-disciplinary skills, particular student needs at different grade levels, rehearsal techniques, choral warm-ups, changing voices, individual/ensemble assessment, classroom management, and curricular/program development. This course will also feature a brief survey of choral repertoire with an emphasis on literature appropriate for sixth through twelfth grade choral ensembles. Pre-Student Teaching Clinical Experience required
