Catalog description

Serves the needs of counselors by providing an in-depth exploration of ethical practice through the American Counseling Association (ACA) Code of Ethics, the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) Ethical Standards for School Counselors, and the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) Code of Ethics. Students examine personal values, cultural and societal expectations, and professional standards of behavior as they relate to school counseling, clinical mental health counseling, and marriage and family therapy. The course prepares students to apply ethical decision-making models and address state licensure requirements across counseling specialties.
