Prerequisite(s): Ability to carry a 40 lbs pack for 15-25 miles Covers the basic aspects of backpacking, camping, and wilderness travel. Includes labs, lectures, demonstration, audio-visual and extended field trips. Teaches basic components of backpacking and lifelong values of outdoor recreation. Requires multi-night backpacking trip. Course fee of $88 for transportation, equipment, and support applies.
