Prerequisite(s): ( PHIL 1000 or PHIL 2050 or PHIL 2110 or PHIL 2150 ) and University Advanced Standing Introduces students to various philosophical themes and figures unique to classical American Philosophy and American Pragmatism. Focuses on assorted thematic topics characteristic of American Pragmatism, as well as the work of the American transcendental school and various philosophical writings from American women, such as Jane Addams, and African-American philosophers, such as Alain Locke.
