Prerequisite(s): NUTR 1020 and University Advanced Standing Provides an in-depth understanding of human metabolism, emphasizing the biochemical and physiological roles of nutrients in the body. Analyzes the impact of food and nutrition on physiological processes and chronic disease development and prevention, with focused discussions on obesity, cardiovascular disease, and diabetes. Integrates knowledge from anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, and nutrition science, preparing students to critically evaluate scientific literature and apply evidence-based insights to health and nutrition decisions.
