Prerequisite(s): NURS 3405 and University Advanced Standing Explores professional nursing practice in community-based and community-oriented settings to promote and preserve the health of populations. Emphasizes cultural competence, interdisciplinary collaboration, and advocacy in influencing health behaviors and reducing risks for vulnerable groups. Includes principles of family and community assessments, epidemiology, social determinants of health, and environmental health with a focus on planning health educational programs within the community.
