Catalog description

Prerequisite(s): Department Approval For students whose native language is other than English. Studies comprehension of main ideas and supporting details of academic texts, making inferences and expanding vocabulary through context and English dictionary usage. Encourages students to read for pleasure and increase fluency through extensive reading outside of class. Develops critical reading and thinking skills.
