Covers the role of special education teachers in the inclusion of exceptional children, working with parents and specialists, and in developing individual educational plans for exceptional children. Introduces future special education teachers to the special education field. Examines characteristics and special needs of exceptional children who have physical, emotional, social, mental, or health exceptionalities. Stresses curriculum modification planning necessary for special needs students. Addresses ethical behaviors specific to teaching exceptional children. Requires ten hours of field work.
