Catalog description

Prerequisite(s): Admission to the Master of Education in Higher Education Leadership program, or permission of the graduate program director. Examines legal frameworks, liability, compliance, constitutional and civil rights, competing rights of institutions, faculty, staff, and students, and contractual obligations in higher education. Explores the legal, ethical, institutional, and political processes that influence higher education and the relationship between law and the system of higher education. Critiques legal issues as a way to define the role and meaning of higher education in today’s society.
