Prerequisite(s): Acceptance into the Dental Hygiene Program Focuses on the study of the healthy periodontal tissues, and the factors, recognition, and classes of periodontal disease. Provides background knowledge of nonsurgical and surgical treatment of periodontal disease. Builds on basic and dental sciences and prepares for clinical dental hygiene practice.
