Acquaints students with the fundamentals of mass communication, especially the skills of information-gathering and writing for the mass media. Emphasizes print journalism but also considers broadcasting, legal and ethical issues, and public relations. Emphasizes writing for the media and AP style. Focuses on journalistic writing forms. Lab access fee of $10 applies.
