Catalog description

Students learn biological, hydrological, and geological controls on elemental cycling in Earth's critical zone. Application of elemental analyses to tracking environmental change and spatial/temporal variation in ecosystem processes is addressed. Human and natural controls are considered in aquatic, terrestrial, marine, and atmospheric environments. Additional coursework is required for those enrolled in the graduate-level course.
