Catalog description

This course covers thermodynamic principles and their applications to atmospheric science. Students learn the laws of thermodynamics, intensive and extensive properties, heat capacity, atmospheric lapse rates and stability, hydrostatic and hypsometric equations, and energy exchange in climate systems. Additional coursework is required for those enrolled in the graduate-level course.
