Catalog description

This course provides background on Mendelian plant genetics including gene mapping, linkage, qualitative, quantitative, and population genetics. Topics include selection schemes for allogamous and autogamous plants, maximizing genetic gain, and marker assisted selection. Additional coursework is required for those enrolled in the graduate-level course.
