This course emphasizes the theoretical underpinnings of solution techniques and equation behaviors. Topics include diffusion, wave, and Laplace equations from an advanced point of view, classification of second order equations, fundamental solutions, Green’s functions, the adjoint problem, shocks and weak solutions.
