Catalog description
This course is designed as an introduction to ore deposits and ore-forming processes. The chief objectives are (1) a basic understanding of how ore deposits form, (2) to learn how ore deposits are classified, and (3) to understand the origins of different types of ore deposits. The primary focus is on metallic mineral deposits, but some of the more important non-metallic deposits will also be covered, excluding hydrocarbons. Graduate students will write an additional research proposal.
