Catalog description
This course covers the application of field observations, hand-sample, thin-section, and X-ray diffraction analyses to the interpretation of chemical sedimentary rocks. It emphasizes determination of depositional environment and evaluation of diagenetic changes. It includes three lectures and one lab per week. Additional coursework is required for those enrolled in the graduate-level course.
