Catalog description

This course is an interdisciplinary examination of human-animal interactions and the human-animal bond. Topics include historical foundations, theoretical orientations, psychological and physiological benefits of companion animals, the roles animals have with various special and multicultural populations, and animal welfare. Additional coursework is required for those enrolled in the graduate-level course.
