EDC 474Early Childhood Practical Teaching Residency I

(3 cr.) Students complete their initial residency experience in a public school PreK-3 classroom, attending two full days per week prior to Residency II. Provides guided field experience supported by a clinical educator and a university supervisor. Candidates apply developmentally appropriate practices, strengthen classroom management and assessment skills, and engage in reflective teaching to prepare for full-time student teaching in Residency II. (Practicum/Online/Accelerated Online Program) Pre: Concurrent enrollment in EDC426 and EDC475, Admission to College of Education; Admission to the Early Childhood Certification Program; Admission to the Early Childhood Care and Education for Working Professionals; or permission of the instructor.
