The course offers the student work tools that are essential for the performance of excellence as an environmental scientist and as a professional. In addition, the acquired knowledge is part of an integral academic formation in the area of natural sciences. The experimental design is the foundation for planning, implementation, analy sis, and decision making that are produced in the global context. Experimental design comprehends fundamental topics of mathematics and statistics that provoke assertive decision making. The course focuses on statistical design and analysis of experiments. Competencies such as scientific and quantitative reasoning, critical thinking, technology use and communication are prioritized throughout the course content. The integration of these competencies offers great developmental opportunities in personal and p rofessional contexts. The course covers the following topics: Introduction to design and analysis of experiments; simple comparative experiments; experiments with a single factor-Analysis of Variance; randomized blocks, latin squares factorial experiments, and related designs; non - parametric analyses; and statistical software applications.
