Immersion course in the world of wines, focusing on understanding the viticultural and vinicultural practices that create the globe's most esteemed wines. Students will explore the rich tapestry of global wine regions, with an in - depth study of Europe’s most prolific wine-producing countries — Italy, France, Portugal, Germany, and Spain— and an extensive look at the prominent New World regions in North and South America, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa. Through this journey, the course emphasizes not just the sensory evaluation of wine but also the regulatory frameworks that shape wine production, regional varietals, and the cultural histories of each wine region.
