This course is based on the discussion of the clinical procedures used in studies of Magnetic Resonance (MRI). In it, the techniques of image acquisition related to the nervous system, neck, thorax, musculoskeletal systems, spine and abdominopelvic regions are analyzed. The content of the course includes clinical application, use of coils, special considerations at the time of the study, selection of protocols including thickness of the cut, phase, flow compensation and positioning cri teria in both adult and pediatric patients and techniques. To minimize artifacts, it includes the visualization of anatomical structures and their planes, characteristics of normal and pathological structures. As well as education and interaction with the patient, the use of contrast medium, and concepts of patient safety. Emphasis on the development critical thinking skills, through the analysis of clinical situations or cases, which allow the student to evaluate and propose solutions to them. In addition, the development of skills related to ethics and diversity, new technologies and communication is facilitated. One semester, 2 hours per week RADI 330 CLINICAL PRACTICUM III 1 CREDIT A competency-based clinical experience that integrates the cognitive and psychomotor skills of the student in the performance of radiographic procedures. In this clinical experience, the student will observe and assist the radiographer in his daily tasks. The student will develop the skills to perform all radiogra phic procedures performed in the imaging department. The student will look for the high -quality elements in the chest, abdomen, extremities, bony thorax, specialized studies, spine and skull images to meet criteria related to professional standards. Distinguish the roles of the members of the radiological center to know who to contact in the resolution of conflict resolution. Evaluate what are the safety factors involved for the staff, the patient and her family of hers in a radiographic procedure of the ex tremities, thorax and abdomen. Analyze communication strategies for patient and family education and adapt them to the level of understanding of the patient / family. In clinical practice, the student will critically evaluate chest, abdomen, limb, bony chest, specialized studies, spine, and skull radiographic images to determine whether the radiographs can be submitted for reading with the radiologist. RADI 331 CLINICAL PRACTICUM IV 1 CREDIT The IV clinical education course provides the student with a competency-based clinical experience where the student integrates cognitive and psychomotor skills in the performance of radiographic procedures. In this clinical experience, the student will observe and assist the Radiol ogical Technologist in his daily tasks. The student will acquire the skills to carry out all the radiographic procedures performed in the imaging department, considering the radiographic quality, patient management, ethical and legal aspects of the profess ion. In addition, it facilitates the development of competencies related to new technologies and making decisions based on critical thinking.
