Catalog description

Introduction to Physics and instrumentation of the processes for the creation of images by Computerized Tomography (CT). Emphasis will be placed on the physical processes of linear attenuation, types of trackers, collimation, filtration, detectors, image quality, the role of the computer in imaging, and other physical and clinical factors involved in imaging. Emphasis will be placed on the development of knowledge and critical thinking skills, so that the student can use physical and scientific concepts to create, evaluate and propose solutions when creating an image. In addition, the development of competenc ies related to new technologies and quantitative reasoning is facilitated. One semester, 2 hours a week.
