This is the second of a 4 -course series focused on applying research to the field of physical therapy. In this course, students delve into the practical aspects of research by learning how to collect and manage data effectively. Course two emphasizes the selection of appropriate data collection methods and tools, with a focus on the diverse research areas within physical therapy. Students will gain hands-on experience in data collection techniques relevant to their chosen research topics. By the end of this course, students will have collected meaningful data to address their research problem. PHTD 962 KNOWLEDGE TRANSLATION III 1 CREDIT This is the third of a 4-course series focused on applying research to the field of physical therapy. This course focuses on the analysis and interpretation of research data within the context of physical therapy. Students will explore various data analysis techniques applicable to their specific research domains. The course emph asizes the use of statistical tools and software to analyze data, drawing meaningful conclusions and insights from research findings. By the end of this course, students will have conducted data analysis and gained insights into the implications of their research for the field of physical therapy. PHTD 963 KNOWLEDGE TRANSLATION IV 1 CREDIT This is the final course in the research series focused on applying research to the field of physical therapy. This course concentrates on the effective dissemination of research findings. Students will learn how to communicate their research outcomes to various audiences, including peers, healthcare professionals, and the broader community. Course four addresses the importance of clear and concise reporti ng, presentation skills, and the utilization of vario.us dissemination platforms. By the end of this course, students will be well -prepared to share their research findings and contribute to the advancement of physical therapy knowledge and practice. PHTD 964 READINESS EXAM 2 1 CREDIT This course represents a culminating experience in the didactic portion of the DPT. Students will undergo a comprehensive examination upon completion of the didactic content to confirm readiness to begin terminal clinical experiences. This examination measures clinical competency and professional behaviors commensurate of a 2nd year DPT student. Students must succeed in this exam prior to beginning the terminal clinical education experiences of the DPT program.
