NURSING THEORIES, CONCEPTUAL MODELS AND PHILOSOPHIES

Catalog description

This course focuses on the analysis of the philosophies, conceptual models and nursing theories that have influenced the development of nursing science. The structure, functions and levels of abstraction of theories are discussed. In addition, several interdisciplinary philosophies are analyzed, as well as the process of integration and dissemination of nursing knowledge. It facilitates the development of competencies related to knowl edge of nursing practice, scholarship in the discipline of nursing, and professionalism. Requires 45 hours of theory per academic term.
