MEDICAL NUTRITION THERAPY AND DISEASE PREVENTION I

Catalog description

Part one of a two semester course designed to provide the opportunity to integrate the theories and principles of medical nutrition therapy and the nutrition care process into clinical practice. This course explores changes in nutrient metabolism related to biochemical and physiology alterations in disease conditions and the development of therapeutic diets. The cours e covers cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, renal and respiratory diseases, diabetes mellitus, cancer as well as metabolic and neurological disorders.
