Catalog description

This course presents conceptual and empirical literature on supervision, including models, approaches, techniques, relationships, and situations within the process, as well as the ethical and legal considerations involved in supervision. Particular emphasis is placed on the importance of int egrating cultural, linguistic, and social diversity into all aspects of the supervisory process. The course provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary for the successful development of competencies in supervision, adopting an inclusive perspective that promotes equity and cultural sensitivity. Comprehensive models of clinical supervision are included, addressing the specific needs of multicultural populations, self -assessment with a focus on cultural competence, and the evaluation of supervis ee development in diverse contexts. Additionally, intervention techniques in the supervisory relationship are addressed, fostering respect for individual differences and recognizing sociocultural factors that may influence the process.
