This course presents an introduction to the properties and soils genesis. The course covers topics including soil morphology, chemical, physical, and biological properties of soils; the origin, classification and distribution of soils; soil ecology, the effects of soil acidity and alkalinity, and biogeochemical cycles of C, N, and other elements; soil management and conservation and its influence on people and food production; and the environmental impact of land use.
