Catalog description
This course provides theory and practice for sustainable agriculture. The course presents, discusses and analyzes the impact of traditional practices in agriculture and the applicability of sustainable techniques for the conservation and management of agro-ecosystems. Emphasis is given to the analysis of case studies and physical- spatial analysis to evaluate different agroecosystems in Puerto Rico and the Caribbean. In addition, field trips are integrated to apply the content of the course. ENMG 717 INTRODUCTION TO RESEARCH 1 CREDIT This course introduces the research process of an environmental problem selected by the student. The course integrates the exhibition of research topics in the discipline, workshops for advanced search in databases, IRB requirements, writing techniques and individual meetings for the student to select a research topic and the composition of the thesis committee. This course constitutes one of the graduation requirements to obtain the master's degree. This course can be repeated.
