Catalog description

This course is an introduction to literature through the study of the different literary genres. Emphasis is placed on intensive reading and analysis of an extensive variety of authors, relevance to its social and historical contexts. Students will be exposed to major themes such as race, gender, class, culture, nature, technology, war, politics, faith, heroism, time, death, and the self. A variety of writing activities and research projects will be devel oped through the responsible use of technology. This course is required for teacher candidates in the TESL program. .
