Catalog description
Three credit -hours. Three hours of lecture per week. Introduction to the design of electronic systems for the measurement of physical variables. Sensors and transducers, signal conditioning, noise, noise reduction techniques, grounding, shielding, signal r ecovery techniques, sampling, digital -to-analog conversion, analog to -digital conversion, precision electronics, automated test equipment. Design, construction, and evaluation of instrumentation systems. In this course, students will develop the analytical and design skills necessary to address the gamut of signal acquisition needs encountered in industrial, biomedical, and scientific applications.
