This course is designed to provide in -depth discussions in veterinary immunology. The subject will include the structure, function, kinetics of immune responses in relation to infectious, neoplastic, allergic, immunodeficiency and autoimmune diseases. When possible, practical applications will be underlined. Over the next year, students will learn what constitutes the immune system, how it works to keep animals healthy, and how it can cause allergic and autoimmune diseases and transplant rejection. We will also explore the ways in which immunology is used for the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of infectious diseases and cancer, emphasizing the production and use of vaccines.
