Catalog description

This course promotes the development of foundational knowledge and skills essential to the early stages of development for the general dentist. It teaches the principles of dental anatomy and is contextualized with head and neck anatomy. Instruction includ es the management of terminology, chronology, and nomenclature of the permanent and deciduous dentition. The course also emphasizes the management and understanding of the physiological foundations of the stomatognathic system and the principles of dental occlusion as a basis for dimensioning the theoretical contents of subsequent courses in the DMD curricular program. The course will consist of lectures and demonstrations concurrent with laboratory sessions.
