The first part of the course explores the “discourse of method” and its translation to “discourse as method” in Cultural Studies in relation to the onto-epistemological institution of truth. It studies the methodological tools that epistemological displacement, contained in the discourse analytical category, provides for the production of knowledge in Cultural Studies. Examines semiotics, discourse an alysis, deconstruction, archeology and genealogy as methodological instruments of Cultural Studies. Additionally, it addresses the idea of knowledge and its relationship to ethics, history and the figure of the researcher in semiotics, discourse analysis, deconstruction, archeology and genealogy.
