Fundamental concepts in environmental engineering concerning global warming, sustainability, sustainable constructions, energy, climate measurement, water conservation, water quality and treatment, air pollution, solid waste management, and green engineering. Students will explore course concepts through materials including news and digital media and press, local and international technical reports, and scientific papers. Discussions will include physical and social considerations and cover a wide range of sectors such as water, energy, climate, heat islands, and levels of governance laws local and internation al. Students will use subjective and objective analyses of course concepts through critical thinking strategies and active learning. Course assignments will include a combination of discussions, presentations, readings, and interactive exercises. CIEN 462 ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING AND WATER RESOURCES LABORATORY 1 CREDIT This course is designed to review the fundamentals and practices of water resources engineering within Civil Engineering. Students will explore water resources engineering processes in the theoretical and applied. Understanding of the processes in the hydrologic cycle that includes measurement, computation, estimation, and determination in each area. Water resources problems, the conception, planning, and design of functional elements and facilities to control and utilize water, basic to all water management.
