CLINICAL PATHOLOGY, EVALUATION AND DOCUMENTATION

Catalog description

Introduction to clinical pathology as the study of diseases or conditions of the human body. This course teaches how to recognize each condition through laboratory analysis, diagnosis, observation of the body's biochemical processes, and the medical terminology related to each disease. In addition, it provides the future masseuse with the knowledge to customize the massage according to the needs of the client. Using the techniques of the "Simple Object Access Protocol"(S.O.A.P.) the therapist will be able to evaluate the recipient and thus formulate a therapy aimed at a specific condition. Methods such as palpation, posture and gait assessments are part of the initial assessment that help define the service, accom panied by written documentation. Emphasis is placed on the development of knowledge and competencies of critical thinking, pathology, communication, evaluation and re-evaluation of the patient/client. These skills will be developed through lectures and int erview exercises and preparation of clinical records. In addition, it facilitates the development of skills of technological competence, information skills, ethics and diversity.
