Catalog description
This course familiarizes the student with the staging process and the set of means that contribute to stage performance within a given space and time. The course studies the relationship between dramaturgical writing and stage writing, as well as the relationship between the playwright, the director, and the actor. The course emphasizes the importance of meaning in the creation of the theatrical performance and the study of the normative criteria established by representational traditions and by the creative pro cesses of current theatrical practice. At the end of the semester, the student must present a dramaturgical proposal conceived for performance. This course is taught in classroom mode.
