This course covers the main concepts of telecommunications and networks. A solid introduction to networking fundamentals is provided including acronym, protocols, and components that are essential to understanding how today's networks operate. It is covered with a sol id base, the study of communication networks, basic telecommunications concepts such as: analog and digital communication, basic coding, bandwidth and servers. This identifies the types of communications networks that have evolved, based on various technol ogies and the process of inter -network operation behind data communication. Competencies in innovation will be developed in this course. TCOM 335L LABORATORY OF PRINCIPLES OF TELECOMMUNICATIONS AND NETWORKING 1 CREDIT This laboratory course provides the student with the theoretical concepts and practical skills of telecommunications and networks. The concepts of data transmission, wireless communication, protocols and standards, among others, are analyzed. Topics address the principles of net work system operation, selection, and specifications. Also, in this lab students apply voice communication technologies. The course prepares the student to take the certification exam for Network + systems. Competencies in innovation will be developed in t his course.
